Introduction

The Animal Quarantine Department (AQD) is an attached department of Ministry of National Food Security & Research. At present, AQD is providing its quarantine, inspection and certification services at seven different geographical locations all over the Pakistan namely, Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Sialkot, Peshawar and Quetta. In addition to these, three other stations at Gwadar, Khunjrab and Khokrapar are in development phase and will be the part of AQD in due course of time.

The key objective of the AQD is to guard the point of entries and point of exits nationwide in order to protect against the animal diseases that are transboundary in nature and diseases of public health significance and to safeguard the international trade vigilantly as per national and international SPS standards.
